The bee flies around devotedly hunting for sweet pleasures, thirsty for guilty treats and curious to seek new delights.

As for the bee, this blog will act as my hive and popular culture as my honey.

This is a chance for me to capture life around me and record it in pictures, or in short articles, from an acute and imaginative standpoint. From now on, anything I feel is interesting, inspiring and original will feature
right here. From the internet, to newspapers to people on the streets of the many cities I travel, I want to seize life at its quirkiest, its edgiest, its sweetest.

My spin on topics, my take on trends and how I think your style and your passions will influence popular culture will be at the core of this unique blog. Be it art, fashion, music, people and even cinema -if it deviates from norms and catches my eye, here is the place to find it.

Enjoy hearing about the latest buzz right here..

Beth Ditto- How much is too much?

I'd like to dedicate my first post to Beth Ditto- lead singer of the Gossip. She epitomises what this blog is about. Fun, fearless, sassy and totally original. As I see frequent images of Ditto in the press, I am always amazed by the careful attention she devotes to each outfit arrangement yet seamingly careless way she throws it all together. Some of her outfits are to say the least, out THERE and TIGHT. But...I love the fact she can just wear, whatever, whenever, completely dismissive of all social decorum. But do we really want to see rolls of flesh dying to escape her skin tight dress? Can she be really comfortable wearing t-h-a-t...? surely not! The fact of the matter is, she's happy, she smiles, her records are damn good and her voice is extraordinary, and by far one of the best out there. THAT's what matters. Now, I don't know about you, but I find her look revolutionnary. Here is what the 21st century is all about, not conforming to a sterotype, but developing your true, unique style, even if that means looking at others around you for inspiration. As long as you are happy with yourself, as Ditto is, this will come across in the way you carry yourself, and trust me, with confidence, you can wear whatever the hell you want, even if you don't give a flying monkey about fashion. Ditto teaches us to play with clothes, to wear bold colours and express ourselves by wearing what we want, without thinking about what others think. Girls: Ditto teaches us a lesson---> if you're happy and enjoy life, style will follow. There are no rules in 2009. Wear what you want and SMILE. Fashion is all about passion. Inspired? ditto.
